Optimizing Year-End Momentum, BNI Encourages the MSME Segment Development

3/12/2023. As a state-owned bank, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, is taking proactive steps to boost economic growth by the end of the year. This is achieved by growing and developing the MSME sector, which serves as the backbone of the Indonesian economy.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo explained that the company is committed to providing a beneficial contribution to the country's continuous development, including in accelerating the growth of MSMEs.

"Taking advantage of the momentum from the end of this year, BNI continues to promote the growth of the MSME segment by offering a variety of particularly developed goods and services, including the People's Business Credit (KUR). BNI also regularly provides varied training and coaching to assist MSMEs in managing their firms more efficiently and identifying opportunities," said Okki.

As of September 2023, BNI has recorded IDR 118.3 trillion in financing for the MSME segment to more than 1.61 million MSMEs. BNI is still committed to channeling according to the KUR ceiling allocation provided by the government until the end of this year.

Okki continued, BNI also strives to help MSMEs to be able to develop and expand both nationally and globally through the Xpora BNI program.

BNI offers banking solutions that help MSMEs expand their capacity, as well as assistance with the export-import process and other trade finance products, through Xpora.

BNI also provides access to business networks and guidance to prepare MSMEs for global market challenges (business matching).

"BNI has also made a number of innovations and transformations to support MSMEs to penetrate the global market. This is accomplished by leveraging its assets through international branch offices located in world trade centers," he said.

In addition, Okki believes that digitalization is one of the key aspects in the development of MSMEs in the modern era. To help MSMEs manage their funds, BNI has developed a variety of digital banking services, such as mobile banking applications and internet banking.

"In addition, we offer training and financing to help MSME enterprises shift digitally. We want to see MSMEs grow sustainably, contribute positively to the national economy and Indonesian MSMEs achieve national and international success," he concluded.
