PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI continues to show its commitment in supporting the progress of the world of sports and the development of young national talents through strategic collaboration with the professional basketball team RANS Simba Bogor (RSB).
RANS Simba Bogor is a professional basketball team owned by Raffi Ahmad and Gading Marten and is one of the participants in the Indonesia Basketball League (IBL) 2025.
BNI Corporate Secretary, Okki Rushartomo, said that this collaboration is part of BNI's strategy to get closer to the sports community and young people, aligned with the presence of wondr by BNI, a mobile banking application designed to give young people the freedom to manage their finances according to their flexible, digital and customizable lifestyle, in accordance with the tag line ‘Jadiin Maumu’.
"BNI through wondr seeks to be closer to the generation of students and college students. We are not only supportive of the development of talent in sports, but also bring the spirit of digital financial education that is fun, accessible, and relevant to young people throughout Indonesia," he said.
In the IBL event, which is the highest professional basketball league in Indonesia, RSB will compete with 13 other teams from all over Indonesia with a home & away competition system.
RANS was established in 2021 and began competing in the IBL since January 2022 and has consistently managed to qualify for the playoffs every season. In this 2025 season, RANS is targeting the top 4 with player material that is considered stronger than the previous season. Through this collaboration, BNI shows its support not only in the aspect of sports achievements, but also in strengthening digital financial literacy among the younger generation.
In order to strengthen interaction with the basketball fan community, BNI presents various attractive promos during RSB home games. Among them are Courtside Ticket Bonus for customers who open an account or top-up a minimum balance of Rp500,000 and Tribune tickets for a minimum top-up of Rp250,000. Customers also have the opportunity to get exclusive wondr merchandise through the Spinning Wheel by making e-Wallet transactions or applying for a BNI Credit Card.
RANS Simba Bogor has completed almost all regular season matches and is set to finish in the top four, confirming its consistency as a progressive new team in the IBL. In their final home game tonight at the IPB Vocational School Gymnasium, they will face Prawira Bandung, the IBL Champions 2023. The IBL Playoff 2025 will begin in late June with a best-of-three system, and RANS are scheduled to play on June 26 if they finish 3-4, or July 3 if they finish 1-2.
“Owing to this collaboration, BNI strengthens its position as a bank that is present in the midst of the dynamics of young people, presenting digital solutions that are in line with their passion for healthy living and financial stability,” added Okki.
