BNI Ensures the Security of Customer Funds and Data Related to the Blocking of Dormant Accounts by PPATK

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI supports the steps taken by the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) in preventing the misuse of bank accounts for illegal activities. One of its efforts is to temporarily halt transactions on several accounts that fall into the dormant category.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo emphasized that BNI is fully committed to complying with all applicable provisions and regulations, including directives from regulators such as PPATK.

Customers need not worry because this policy does not affect the funds or data stored. BNI guaranties that all customer funds and data stay safe," said Okki.

He explained that customer accounts affected by a temporary suspension can only be reopened with the approval of PPATK. The unblocking process can be carried out thru PPATK, BNI branch offices, or BNI headquarters.

After the block is unlocked, customers can reactivate the dormant account by visiting the nearest BNI branch, bringing an identification card (KTP), and making a minimum initial deposit of IDR 100,000.

BNI also encourages customers to regularly conduct transactions to keep their accounts active. Simple activities such as depositing funds, transfers, or payments thru digital channels are sufficient to avoid a dormant status.

In addition, BNI urges customers to periodically update their contact information such as mobile phone numbers and email addresses. This is important so that customers continue to receive important notifications from the bank, including information regarding account status and other services.

"Through this step, we hope that customers will increasingly realize the importance of maintaining account activity and together support the strengthening of a safe and healthy national financial system," concluded Okki.
