The wondr by BNI Indonesia International Challenge 2025 is not only a stage for international badminton athletes to compete, but also a crucial opportunity for the revival of local MSMEs. With the full support of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI), the tournament, which took place from November 11–16 and 18–23, 2025, at the Among Rogo Sports Hall, showcased a true collaboration between the world of sports and local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
During the tournament, visitors could enjoy a variety of culinary delights from leading MSMEs, including EP Street Food, Dawet Nona Manise, Salad Gurt, Pempek Mang Tri, Nasi Uduk Betawi Apandi, and Kuliner Kita. The presence of these MSMEs not only added to the excitement of the event but also opened up broader promotional opportunities for local businesses.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo explained that the involvement of MSMEs in this international tournament is a manifestation of BNI's commitment to strengthening the creative economy ecosystem in the region.
"BNI hopes our presence in this tournament can be a catalyst for the growth of national sporting achievements on the international stage, while also strengthening the spirit of collaboration between the business world and the sports community," Okki said in a written statement.
BNI also presented a digital transaction ecosystem that supports all MSME activities at the event location. All outlets used BNI QRIS, allowing fast and secure transactions through the wondr by BNI app. With a single app, visitors could conveniently pay for food, purchase merchandise, and enjoy a variety of financial services.
Furthermore, BNI also offered the BNI O-Branch service, a coffee shop-style service, offering a unique experience for customers who want to open an account, consult about banking services, or activate BNI digital apps. This service also serves as BNI's strategy to expand new customer acquisition and strengthen the adoption of digital transactions within the sports and tourism communities.
Various additional activities, such as games with prizes, account opening and app activation promotions, added to the excitement of the tournament. With a holistic concept, BNI ensured that the event focused not only on the competition but also on community empowerment and improving digital financial literacy.
BNI's role as the main sponsor extended beyond contributing to sports events. Support for MSMEs demonstrates how financial institutions can be drivers of inclusion and innovation, while also advancing local economies through strategic collaborations.
With its ongoing commitment to supporting MSMEs and the national sports ecosystem, BNI hopes to foster more high-achieving talent in Indonesia, as well as strengthen the synergy between the business world, local communities, and the wider community in driving regional economic growth.
