PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) distributed emergency response aid to victims of flash floods and landslides that hit a number of areas in Padang City since Monday (24/11/2025). The aid was being distributed through the BNI Berbagi program, part of the company's commitment to supporting disaster management and early community recovery.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said the company moved quickly to focus aid on the most pressing logistical needs of affected residents.
"BNI continues to move quickly to distribute emergency aid so that people's basic needs can be met immediately and the recovery process can proceed more quickly," he said in a written statement.
The aid provided includes food and daily necessities such as rice, instant noodles, eggs, ready-to-eat rice, as well as baby and elderly supplies such as diapers, baby formula, and baby porridge. Distribution was prioritized in the worst-affected areas that have declared a disaster emergency, including Koto Tangah and Pauh Sub-Regency.
The total aid was handed over to the Padang City Government by the West Sumatra Area Head Risnaldi and the Padang Branch Manager Andreas, and received directly by Padang Mayor Fadly Amran to then be distributed to around 2,000 affected families (KK).
In addition to Padang, BNI also distributed emergency aid to disaster-affected communities in Sibolga, North Sumatra. BNI allocated IDR25 million for the initial emergency response phase for one week after the incident.
If the disaster in Sibolga lasts longer or has a greater impact, BNI will coordinate further with relevant institutions to assist in the ongoing recovery process.
Currently, the aid is still in the distribution process and will be distributed immediately after field coordination with local stakeholders is completed to ensure that the aid reaches residents who truly need it.
Okki added that this aid is part of BNI's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, which is aimed at strengthening community resilience in facing emergency situations.
"We hope this aid will not only meet urgent needs but also demonstrate our concern and moral support for the affected communities," he stressed.
BNI reaffirms its commitment to remaining present during crises and providing benefits to disaster-affected communities in various regions. The company hopes the aid provided will help restore communities' well-being and strengthen their resilience during the recovery period.
