PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI strengthens its synergy with the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) in developing young Indonesian talent through the Higher Education Graduate Internship Program. This commitment received direct appreciation from Minister of Manpower Yassierli during a working visit to BNI Headquarters in Jakarta on Friday (11/28/2025).
During the visit, Yassierli was welcomed by BNI President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan and his staff, who then accompanied the Minister of Manpower in a dialogue with interns at a number of work units.
"BNI is one of the state-owned enterprise partners that has recruited the most interns, more than 3,000 to 4,000 people spread across Indonesia," said Yassierli.
BNI recorded 4,103 participants in the internship program, consisting of 3,570 participants in batch 1 and 533 participants in batch 2. Of this number, 88% of participants were placed in 205 branch offices and 17 regional offices, while the other 12% underwent internships at the Head Office.
Yassierli believes that equitable placement of participants is crucial to ensure internships aren't concentrated solely in large cities. "We want equal opportunities for graduates in the regions so they can do internships in their respective areas," he emphasized.
BNI President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan stated that this internship program aligns with the needs of the ever-growing banking industry, particularly amidst the acceleration of digital financial services. He stated that BNI needs adaptive young talent who understand banking business processes, from product marketing and financing to back-office services.
"In the six months of this program, we have acquired a lot of talent ready to support BNI's business expansion, especially in the savings and credit marketing sector, which is currently the company's focus for strengthening," said Putrama.
He added that this collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower strengthens the connection between education and industry needs, while ensuring the availability of young workers who are relevant to the transformation of the financial sector.
BNI affirms its commitment to continue playing an active role in expanding employment opportunities for young graduates and accelerating the improvement of Indonesian workers' competencies through direct work experience in the banking industry. This program is expected to create competitive professional talent who are ready to face the needs of the future job market.
