PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, is strengthening access to affordable housing through its participation in the Collaborative Housing Financing and People's Economic Empowerment Program in Singkawang, West Kalimantan. The event, held at the Singkawang City Government Hall on Tuesday (03/03/2026), was attended by 200 BNI participants who took part in a series of outreach sessions and financing agreements, including the Housing Credit Program (KPP) and the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP).
This collaborative program is a synergy between the central government, local governments, financial institutions, and the banking sector to expand access to housing financing for low-income communities while simultaneously encouraging local economic empowerment. A total of 500 participants attended the event, comprising 300 PNM customers and 200 from BNI, including MSMEs, 48 housing developers, building supply chain partners, and potential beneficiary communities.
The event was also attended by Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait, Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Deputy Head of BPS Sonny Harry Budiutomo Harmadi, Mayor of Singkawang Tjhai Chui Mie, member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Lasarus, as well as a number of institutional leaders and other strategic partners.
BNI's Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) Commercial & SME Andy Yusdiman said the housing sector has a strategic role in national development because it has a direct impact on people's welfare.
"The housing sector plays a very strategic role in national development. A home is not just a place to live, but the foundation for building a prosperous, productive, and competitive family," Andy said in a written statement.
He emphasized that through the KPP and FLPP programs, the government is providing more affordable financing for low-income communities. As one of the main distributing banks, BNI is committed to strengthening program implementation by improving product awareness within its branch network, expanding cooperation with local governments and developers, and actively collaborating with the Ministry of Housing and Settlements.
According to Andy, the impact of the housing finance program is not only limited to home ownership, but also contributes to workforce absorption and strengthening the supply chain of the construction sector and MSMEs in the region.
BNI also provides digital service support through the wondr by BNI application, which makes it easier for customers to make installment payments, make transactions, and monitor their financial condition safely and quickly.
"For us, this program is not just about funding, but also about social justice and building prosperity through affordable home ownership. With the support of all parties, we are optimistic that the target of building three million homes can be achieved and provide sustainable economic and social benefits," Andy emphasized.
Through this collaboration, BNI is optimistic that synergy between the government, banks, developers, and communities can accelerate the realization of affordable housing while strengthening regional economies. This joint effort is expected to be a catalyst for promoting inclusive and sustainable growth across Indonesia.
