BNI Prepares PPE for Postal Officers Distributing Social Cash Assistance

Jakarta, 29 May 2020 --- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) and PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) or PT Pos cooperate in succeeding Government's Social Cash Assistance (BST) distribution program for Covid-19 affected communities, carried out in the form of providing cash at 205 BNI Branch Offices which were then distributed by PT Pos to 8 million Beneficiary Families (KPM).

In its implementation, PT Pos employees will distribute cash directly to KPM, where PT Pos employees are at high risk of exposure to Covid-19 virus.

To support Government’s program in BST distribution and realizing the role of SOEs in preventing the spread of Covid-19, BNI took the initiative to provide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the form of personal protective equipment (PPE) consisting of 5,000 non-medical masks, 2,000 bottles of hand sanitizer, 2,000 pieces of face shield/cover, 10,250 pairs of gloves.

The handover of the PPE was carried out symbolically by the Director of Institutional Relations of BNI, Sis Apik Wijayanto to the Director of Strategic and Institutional Relations of PT Pos, Noer Fajrieansyah in Jakarta, Friday (29 May 2020).

Sis said, "BNI is committed to succeeding Government's program through the support of 205 BNI equivalent branch offices and is committed to supporting PT Pos officers in the distribution by providing personal protective equipment to prevent the spread of Covid-19."

The Director of Strategic Relation and Institutional of PT Pos, Noer Fajrieansyah added “The cooperation of BNI and PT Pos Indonesia is a positive thing in implementing Government's program in overcoming Covid-19 at PT Pos.”

Overall, until 29 May 2020, BNI has also distributed 210,000 masks, 50,000 personal protective equipment, and 2,500 liters of hand sanitizers for medical workers and public.
