BNI Sends National Team to Thomas & Uber Cup 2026, Affirming Commitment to Maintaining Champion Tradition

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting national badminton achievements by sending the Indonesian national team to compete in the Thomas Cup 2026 and Uber Cup 2026 events, which will be held in Denmark from April 24 to May 3, 2026.

The athlete's send-off ceremony took place at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center, East Jakarta, Wednesday (4/15/2026), which was attended by the General Chairperson of PP PBSI M. Fadil Imran, the management team, and strategic partners, including BNI which has long supported national badminton development.

Twenty of Indonesia's best athletes will compete, carrying the spirit of the Red and White. In the Thomas Cup, Indonesia is bolstered by top players like Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, as well as the men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri. Meanwhile, in the Uber Cup, Putri Kusuma Wardani and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti are part of a squad expected to deliver top results.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo emphasized that support for the national team is not merely participation, but part of a long-term commitment to building a sustainable sports ecosystem.

"BNI believes that sporting achievements reflect a nation's competitiveness. Therefore, we are not only present during competitions but also consistently support the development of athletes from an early age to the elite level," said Okki.

For more than five years as a strategic partner of PBSI, BNI has played an active role in supporting various coaching programs, ranging from national training, participation in international tournaments, to the development of young athletes in various regions.

According to Okki, this involvement is not only limited to sponsorship support, but also a real contribution in producing superior human resources who are able to compete at the global level.

"The national team's participation in the Thomas and Uber Cup 2026 is not just about chasing titles, but also about continuing the nation's legacy of achievement. BNI will continue to stand with the athletes, supporting them every step of the way toward the world podium," he added.

With continued support from various parties, including the banking sector, it is hoped that the Indonesian badminton team will be able to perform optimally and achieve success again on the international stage.

Going forward, the synergy between the business and sports worlds is expected to further strengthen the foundation for developing national athletes while maintaining Indonesia's champion tradition on the world stage.
