Jakarta, 19 January 2021 -- Floods hit various regions in Indonesia, after South Kalimantan, this time the disaster was hitting Manado, North Sulawesi and Bogor, West Java. In order to ease the burden on the victims, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI distributed humanitarian aid through the Program BNI Berbagi Bersama Membangun Negeri.
From Jakarta, BNI’s Corporate Secretary, Mucharom said that aid for flood victims in Manado was distributed on Tuesday (19 January 2021). The aid was handed over directly to communities affected by floods and landslides in 3 locations of Komo Luar, Mahawu, and Dendengan Villages. The humanitarian aid is in the form of 500 food packages and hundreds of ready-to-eat food packages. Distribution of aid was carried out by BNI’s Manado Regional Leader, Koko Prawira Butar-Butar.
"We hope that the disaster can be overcome immediately so that people can return to their normal activities. We helped to fulfill some of the needs of the disaster-affected communities during the emergency response period, ”said Mucharom.
Mucharom also said that BNI would immediately distribute humanitarian aid to ease the burden of the flash flood victims in Bogor Regency, West Java. In various disasters that occurred earlier this year, BNI has also provided emergency response aid for victims of floods in South Kalimantan, earthquakes in West Sulawesi, floods in Southeast Sulawesi, and landslides in West Java The aid comes from the BNI Community Development Program and donations from BNI employees collected by the BNI Workers Union (SP).
